Yeah, I know. This update is almost four weeks late. I have no excuses.
Anna turned 11 months old on January 2nd. Her 11th month contained some fun milestones such as saying some new words and her first Christmas, and some not-so-fun ones like having her first fever (although it was very slight, barely over 99 degrees, and it just lasted one night) and cutting a couple more teeth (which, perhaps not coincidentally, coincided with the fever).
And now, please enjoy a few choice pictures from Anna's Christmas photoshoot with the amazing M.B. Graville...
Her first "bye-bye" was to Thomas as he was leaving for work on December 7th. She held out on us, though, and didn't say it again until Christmas evening. And even still it's not a regular occurrence. On New Year's Day she said "no" for the first time -- to Grammy!!
Her eleventh month was also very kiss-happy. I got used to getting kisses goodnight every night. But, like most things, she lost interest in it once she "mastered" it. I still get kisses every so often, though. I'm sure it's just a phase. Right?... I'll get kisses again someday, right?...

As a present from Grammy, Anna finally got her first real bed! No more Pack N' Play for this baby!
She looked so tiny in her new, big bed!
Thrilled with her new crib -- Thanks, Grammy!!
Anna and Grammy ~ BFFs!
During December, we also started having some hair issues. Yes, hair issues. I don't know what was going on, but for a while there it looked like there was a Brillo pad or something growing out of the back of Anna's head...
I could not get this hair to lay flat for the life of me.
And she also started finding new ways to entertain herself...
"You were doing dishes, so I had to make my own fun."
Speaking of fun, her favorite thing to do was read. I tell you what, we went through this girl's entire book collection -- multiple times -- in a single sitting. Every. day. And her favorite book of all was The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
She also has always enjoyed her daddy's tickling. Last month was no exception:
And I'm not sure when she started "high-5"-ing, but here's a video of her doing that. Of course, they're more like hand grabs than high-5's, but she does what a baby can.
And there you have it. Eleven months of total win! Yeah, our baby rocks.

SO GREAT! I can't wait to meet her. And in just a week I will!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe is so beautiful, adorable, and every other positive descriptor out there. What a wonderful little angel. I am loving every minute of watching her grow up.
We love The Very Hungry Caterpillar too! What a cute little girl and such a big personality!
