Thomas, Anna and I had the pleasure of spending Labor Day weekend at my Uncle David and Lori's house in California. We drove out on Friday night in hopes that Anna would sleep the whole way. This plan worked beautifully. We arrived at their house in Capistrano Beach a little before 3 am.

Saturday was filled with relaxation. Mom flew over to join us mid-morning and we proceeded to spend the majority of the day outside in the back yard. Anna absolutely loved the out-of-doors. Unfortunately, it's too hot in Arizona for much outdoor playtime during these months, but the California weather was perfectly delicious. Anna discovered the thrill that is watching birds fly in formation overhead, the delight that is snoozing to the sounds of the ocean, and the joy that is a gentle sea breeze as she rolled around in her Pack 'N Play. This baby partied like it was 1999.

Sunday morning we all went to breakfast at a fabulous French café in Dana Point. I had some of the best quiche I've ever tasted and Uncle David learned what a "blowout" is.

That afternoon we headed to the beach. Anna didn't much care for the ice-cold water between her toes, but she did enjoy watching the waves.
Happy as a clam!

After a delicious dinner made by Lori (seriously, that woman is an amazing cook!) we loaded up the car and headed home. Anna slept most of the way and we arrived safe and sound around 3 in the morning.
It was a fantastic vacation, to say the least. Thank you, Lori and Uncle David for a great time!
